Karl and Lillian’s Love Story
After the death of her mum Lillian, who had struggled with dementia for many years, Nell decided to get a recording of her 90 year old father Karl. Sadly it was too late to record her mum, so she wanted to make sure she captured the stories from her dad.
Karl spoke about meeting his love, and partner of 70 years, when they were both at high school. He shared how they came to move from Hungary to Australia - to have their beloved daughter, Nell.

Jan’s Unexpected New Life in Australia
In the early 1960’s, when Jan was 17 years old, her family decided to immigrate to Australia and she was devastated. Enjoying the Mersey beats scene with her first proper boyfriend in England, the last thing she wanted to do was start life again in a new country. However, Jan moved with her family and what she discovered was a life (and a new love) that she could never have imagined.
